Michael is the Assistant Director at The Evergreen State College’s Center for Climate Action and Sustainability (CCAS). He has a Masters in Public Administration and a BA in Sustainable Urban Design, both from Evergreen. Michael first connected with Evergreen in 2013 as a student. He has since worked to connect students, faculty, and community partners through sustainability projects that blend creativity, education, and real-world impact. With a passion for SolarPunk (a meliorism movement that imagines hopeful, sustainable futures rooted in equity and community resilience) Michael integrates this ethos into everything from campus initiatives to game-based learning. Talauna is originally from Tacoma, Washington, and has lived in Olympia since 2011. She is the proud mother of 21 year old twins, who have both left the nest and are now away for college at WSU and Weber State. She is a veteran organizer in the South Sound who is passionate and committed to advocating for racial justice, social justice, police accountability, and housing justice. Talauna has a BA in Organizational Management. She is a Certified Peer Counselor and Certified DV Advocate. Jack Zeiger (He/Him)

Jack first got the bug for saving fossil fuels during his senior year in high school during the 1973-74 oil crisis, long before he or most of us had heard about global warming or climate disruption. He has since worked most of his career trying to save energy and fight climate change. He recently retired from his position at Tacoma Power as an Energy Efficiency Engineer, working with commercial and industrial customers helping them save energy. There he served on the Steering Committee for the Regional Emerging Technologies Advisory Council for the Pacific Northwest. Before that, Jack worked at the WSU Energy Program researching energy efficiency, focusing on new and emerging technologies. He is a licensed Mechanical Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager. Gordon is a retired physician, practicing medicine in Olympia for over 30 years. He is the chair of the Olympia Physicians for Social Responsibility Climate Task Force and the vice-chair of the Phagebiotics Research Foundation. He has pursued public health work in various capacities and currently serves on the One Health Committee for the Washington State Department of Public Health, addressing antibiotic resistance. He is passionate about the public health and medical consequences of climate change and believes all people deserve the opportunity for health as our world warms.

Angelika Hagen-Breaux (She/Her)

Angelika retired after 31-years with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. A biologist by training, she spent most of her career in salmon fisheries management. After heading the Puget Sound Fisheries Sampling Program for several years, she led the fisheries modeling unit, simulating the impacts of fisheries on endangered salmon stocks. During her tenure she served on national and international committees closely collaborating with Tribal, state, federal, and foreign governments. She joined TCAT to work with her community to address the climate crisis on the local level.

Tom Crawford (He/Him)

Tom is a founding member of TCAT, and served as board president for many years. He works closely with TCAT staff on developing and carrying out TCAT programs. He has lived and worked in Thurston County for over 30 years and has over 40 years experience working with community development, education, health, environmental, and transportation organizations. He has provided training on sustainability in Thurston County and throughout the Puget Sound region, with numerous presentations to elected officials. Tom has also worked with Native American communities in the Pacific Northwest and with state transportation agencies nationwide.
