All of the US is Warming – PNW Cooler than other areas

All of the United States has seen warming since the first Earth Day in 1970, with an average increase of 2.9 degrees. The Pacific NW has warmed by 2.2 to 2.3 degrees. Other places in the country are warming much faster.
- The fastest-warming U.S. states from 1970 to 2025 are: Alaska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
- The fastest-warming U.S. cities are: Reno, NV; Las Vegas, NV; El Paso, TX; Burlington, VT; and Tyler, TX.
- Continued warming can harm people and ecosystems, but we have many options to accelerate the clean energy transition and cut heat-trapping pollution.
