The Carnegie Group of Olympia is a political study group that focuses on the cost of growth, and on good government issues. Controlling population growth is a key to constraining climate change, and subsidies to growth work to accelerate climate chaos. We meet weekly on Monday, with a flexible agenda for political discussion.

Climate Solutions’ mission is to accelerate practical and profitable solutions to global warming by galvanizing leadership, growing investment, and bridging divides. The organization has pioneered the vision and cultivated powerful partnerships for the proposition that by cutting global warming pollution we can accelerate the transition to clean energy and build broadly shared economic prosperity. For close to 20 years, they have been an active catalyst and advocate, building a powerful constituency for local, regional, national, and international action on climate and clean energy.

Deschutes Estuary Restoration Team (DERT) is working to restore the urban estuary in downtown Olympia by reconnecting the river to the Salish Sea. We are an advocacy group representing the interests of the local environment, natural systems with the services that they provide, and a community that values wildlife, water quality, economic opportunities and natural beauty. We serve as a center for a creative community-driven effort for the health of the Deschutes watershed by focusing on the most beneficial restoration project for the river: freeing it’s estuary.


Intercity Transit is a municipal corporation that provides public transportation for people who live and work in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and Yelm, an area of approximately 94 square miles. We operate 25 bus routes, a door-to-door service for people with disabilities, a vanpool program, specialized van programs, and are active in community partnerships.

Jim Lazar is an economist with more than 40 years of experience examining legislation and also evaluating electric utility resource plans and rates. Jim was a founding member of the Northwest Energy Coalition and has served as a Thurston County Public Utility District Commissioner. Jim is Treasurer of Thurston Environmental Voters.

LOTT is a non-profit corporation, formed by four government partners – Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and Thurston County. LOTT provides wastewater management services for the urban areas of north Thurston County, Washington. This includes wastewater treatment and production of Class A Reclaimed Water. LOTT is recognized as a Utility of the Future, with a strong commitment to sustainability and a comprehensive education program that includes the WET Science Center.

The Northwest EcoBuilding Guild is a community of builders, designers, suppliers, homeowners, and partners concerned with ecological building in the Pacific Northwest. The Guild empowers people through education to transform the built environment for long term sustainability.

Olympia Safe Streets Campaign (OSSC) advocates for active transportation that is safe, accessible and promotes community health.
