About the speakers:
Jason Selwitz: Since mid-October 2019, Jason served SPSCC as the Dean of Applied Technology. Before that he served as the faculty lead for the Energy and Welding programs at Walla Walla Community College (WWCC), where he taught water chemistry, solar energy, plant operations, process control, climate science, and biochemical systems courses. Jason is a husband and father and lives in an all electric (no natural gas) south facing home with ~3.6kW of solar PV. He served in the Philippines as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1998-2000.
Joel Hansen: Joel is a Solar Developer with CapStone Solar Solutions working on utility scale and community solar projects across the Northwest.  Before that he was Director of Business Development for Mt. Capra, the largest goat milk dairy in Washington which is managed regeneratively to sequester carbon and improve ecological function while producing the highest quality nutritional products.  He is a lifelong resident of the South Sound and has two decades of experience serving the community on non profit and municipal boards and committees.  He currently serves on the Tumwater Planning Commission, the Port of Olympia Citizens Advisory Committee, and was formerly an Associate Supervisor with the Thurston Conservation District.  He has extensive training in regenerative land management with the Savory Institute with the goal of becoming certified as an Accredited Professional in their global network.
