Chehalis Basin: Reducing Flood Damage & Restoring Aquatic Species

February 17, 2021 - 6:00 pm

REGISTER HERE! | The Chehalis Basin Strategy was launched in 2010 to meet two of the Basin’s greatest challenges—the precipitous decline of salmon and other aquatic species and the certainty that catastrophic flooding will once again devastate the Basin. Public input is critical to ensuring these actions reflect the voices and interests of everybody who lives, works in, and cares about the Chehalis Basin.

The Office of Chehalis Basin invites you to join two upcoming evening public meetings:

  • Feb. 17: There’s no single, simple solution that makes up the Chehalis Basin Strategy. As such, it can be challenging to track the various proposed actions that remain at play.

At this meeting, the Office of Chehalis Basin will walk through key flooding and habitat actions currently in development, and facilitate a Q&A session to ensure every person knows what’s at stake.

  • March 9: Join a community conversation just a few weeks before the Chehalis Basin Board submits its recommended actions for the Chehalis Basin Strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to review and weigh in on the Board’s draft recommendations before they’re shared broadly.

A recording of each meeting will be distributed for later viewing for those who are unable to attend. You can listen to the Nov. 10 meeting here.
