OlyEcosystems is dedicated to protecting and restoring key urban habitat in Olympia for future generations. For that reason, we are delighted to work with student volunteers from Marshall Middle School again this year. Come join our students in restoring a diverse, intact, beautiful forest right in the heart of Olympia! This forest provides vital nesting habitat for the Pacific Great Blue Heron, filtration of storm water runoff heading into the Puget Sound, and valuable green space for both people and wildlife.
It is planting season and this Friday we will begin planting over a thousand ferns and salal to reestablish the native understory where our WCC crew cleared invasive ivy.
